Mr Alnseer may be brave but he is not the stereotype seen on TV's Bondi Rescue. Yet the young Syrian dentist and first aid officer who arrived in Australia with his sister Lama five months ago is exactly the kind of recruit that Tamarama Surf Life Saving Club is targeting.

Please make the team feel welcome around the club as the sculptures begin to appear.

Sharing our reef lounge is the beginning of a beautiful friendship and continues our vision of being a community hub, inclusive of all people who love the beach.

Murals celebrate equality on the club!

mural.jpg

The painting was designed by local artists and lifesavers who feel strongly about marriage equality. We hope you enjoy and love the paintings as a celebration of love, freedom and equality as much as we do! The ocean doesn't discriminate and neither does Tamarama!

Join Tamarama SLSC on Sunday 8 Nov as we celebrate the Rainbow Walk for Equality.

The painting is only temporary. The view we all know and love will return to normal in a few weeks.

We've included a statement below from the club.

Our club members are in shock to learn that one of our much loved lifesavers – has lost her life after the London Bridge attack.

Kirsty Boden was a fearless, compassionate, much-loved lifesaver at Tamarama and the club and community is deeply shaken by this tragic loss. Our thoughts are with her family at this time.

Tamarama Surf Life Savers paddled out sunflowers in memory of clubbie Kirsty Boden, on Saturday 15 July 2017.
