The Women in Powercraft program supports women aged 15–25 years who are financial members of Surf Life Saving and meet the course eligibility criteria. As part of our commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion, all female-identifying and non-binary members are welcome to participate.
While funding is prioritised for female members aged 15–25, women outside this age group are also encouraged to apply. We are committed to flexibility and will work with eligible applicants where possible to support participation.
Participants must be available for all sessions below:
Dry Session
- Thursday 24 September 2026 6:30pm – 8:30pm (Theory and Dry Session)
Wet Sessions
- Saturday 3 October 2026 7:30am – 3:30pm (Practical Training)
- Sunday 4 October 2026 7:30am – 3:30pm (Practical Training)
- Monday 5 October 2026 7:30am – 12:30pm (Practical Training, Assessment & Course Completion)
Eligibility Requirements
To participate in the IRB Crew Course, candidates must:
- Be a current financial female Surf Life Saving club member
- Hold a valid and proficient Bronze Medallion
- Commit fully to the program, including any required online pre-learning
Gear & Equipment Requirements
Participants must bring:
- SLSA approved lifejacket
- Adequate warm clothing suitable for all weather conditions
- Helmet
