Wett Ones Swimming Club is pleased to propose a winter training partnership with Tamarama Surf Life Saving Club. This initiative supports Tamarama members in maintaining swim fitness during the off-season, while strengthening the connection between our clubs and the broader LGBTQIA+ aquatic community.
Participants will have access to:
- Up to seven coached squad sessions and one uncoached session per week
- Multiple pool locations (Sydney Uni, Prince Alfred Park, Victoria Park)
- A structured and inclusive squad training environment
Introductory Session
We propose a dedicated introductory session to welcome Tamarama members and familiarise them with squad training:
- Date: Sunday 31 May
- Time: 4 pm - 5 pm (3:45 pm arrival for intro and warmup)
- Location: Prince Alfred Park Pool
- Coach: Nathan Da Fonte (P11)
Register your attendance for the introductory session via this link.
June Participation (Transition Period)
Following the introductory session, Tamarama members may attend Wett Ones sessions throughout June as prospective members. Under the usual Wett Ones process, prospective members receive three free trial swims before being asked to join the club. For this partnership, Tamarama participants will still receive those three free trial swims, but the requirement to take out membership will be deferred until 1 July to align with the availability of 6-month Masters Swimming memberships.
This means Tamarama participants may:
- Use their three free trial swims in June, or later if they do not attend during June
- Continue attending during June after using their free trial swims by paying the standard session fee
- Take out a 6-month Wett Ones membership from 1 July if they wish to continue
This gives Tamarama members a simple pathway into winter training without requiring a short-term or pro-rata membership arrangement.
Ongoing Participation (From 1 July)
From 1 July, participants who wish to continue will take out a 6-month Wett Ones membership (via Swim Central). This provides full access to all sessions and membership benefits under Masters Swimming Australia.
