IRB Crew Course

The SLSA Inflatable Rescue Boat Crew (IRBC) award and its aligned unit of competency provide members with skills and knowledge to effectively crew an inflatable rescue boat (IRB) in rescue operations and as part of a water safety team.

Members who hold this award may patrol in the role of an IRB Crew. Proficiency in this award is renewed each year through SLS Skills Maintenance.

Certification:

Upon successful completion, members also qualify for the nationally recognised PUASAR015 Crew a small power craft in a rescue operation unit of competency. Proficiency in this award is renewed each year through SLS Skills Maintenance.

Entry Requirements:
  • Financial Member
  • Minimum Age of 15 years
  • Proficient SLSA Bronze Medallion

Course Duration:

5-session course.

Dates for this course are as follows:

  • Friday 10th of October: 6.00pm - 8.00pm (Dry skills)
  • Saturday 11th of October: 6.30am - 10.30am (Wet skills)
  • Sunday 12th of October: 6.30am - 10.30am (Wet skills)
  • Saturday 18th of October: 6.30am - 10.30am (Wet skills)
  • Sunday 19th of October: 6.30am - 11.30am (Wet skills + Assessment)
