We hope you are all having a great week. Welcome to the third Tama Woman profile of our Shes’ a Lifesaver campaign.

This week, it is the turn of Sandra Fox, I think it is fair to say one of the most experienced lifesavers at our club. Sandra has been CTO and Vice President amongst so many roles and achievements and even has an award named after her but is one of the most humble people you will meet. Sandra was also acknowledged last year by SLSA for the 40th anniversary of women in SLS as one of the leading women in SLS, so this is exactly why we want to promote our fantastic women! Sandra currently is co-patrol captain of Patrol 11 with the lovely Jesse.

Hi Team Tama, 

We hope you've enjoyed reading Zoe's profile, as the first of this new series where we point the spotlight on the amazing women of Tama.

And this week we are back introducing another incredible woman to our community, Harriet. Introduce Harriet? Who are we kidding, if you've been lucky enough to grab a ticket to our awards night last season, Harriet was our fabulous MC. She's a fierce Corona-Bronzie who joined the ranks of Patrol 2. On a quiet Saturday morning, she'll lead her patrol through a yoga sequence to ensure everyone's at their best whilst on patrol.

Tell us a bit about yourself: 3 words that best describe you. Creative, analytical, mermaid. Why did you get in to Surf Life Saving?  How did you join Tama? My brother (Albert) and his boyfriend (Arnaud) were already patrol members and encouraged me after a breakup to do the bronze medallion and I took to it all like a fish to water (lol). What are the best things about being part of the Surf Life Saving community? It's really nice to be part of a community whose people are all very different - from what they do, where they come from, to what they value. Inside of all this diversity, I have found a community that I trust, care a lot about and share a lot of joy with.

You got it, we will be pointing the spotlight on the amazing women of Tamarama in our Thursday edition. We shall also be making them famous on the Instaweb.

Our goals are:

• To highlight the diversity in background, experience, age, and skills of the women of Tama;
• To steer away from some of the stereotypes that can be associated with SLS and the women involved;
• In the pursuit of continuing to forge stronger connections amongst all our members and our non-members, to promote women in lifesaving and always be recruiting. 

This week we are starting with our current Vice President, and inspiration behind this initiative, Zoe Scott-King from Patrol 11. Please read, enjoy and share with your friends, family and just about anyone.
